Vehicle Producers Are Actually Striving To Create Eco-friendly Cars
The more we depend on fossil fuels, the more we will find our environment damaged by its effects. It’s crucial that things begin changing very soon and one of the most effective ways to start is with vehicles. In an attempt to address the problem with fuel emissions, auto makers are setting out to build more cars that will not harm the environment.
There are many different types of these eco friendly cars, the most eco friendly being a car that runs on battery. Since the vehicle is battery powered means doesn’t need for diesel or gasoline. Even though this looks great from the point of view fuel savings and the effect on the environment, there are disadvantages. These vehicles are still in the early stages even though they have been released to consumers, so their engines are rather limited. This means that you should recharge the battery after more or less 100 miles, so it doesn’t run very far on one run.
The hybrid car is another kind of vehicle available to customers. They use both a battery and petrol and are environmentally friendly. Allow me to explain how hybrids actually run. It is the power from the battery that is utilized first by the vehicle. When the hybrid achieves a particular speed, it starts using gasoline, giving the car a lot of power for the highway. The good thing about it using petrol is that it recharges the battery automatically, meaning you don’t have to recharge it manually with an outside power source.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles are still one more car type. They operate much in the same way as the earlier hybrid car and aren’t detrimental to the environment. Take note, the typical hybrid car does not need to be recharged separately whereas this is not the case with the plug-in option. When it comes to fuel consumption, both types of hybrid cars seem to perform better than your typical car.
A good example of a hybrid car that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius developed by Toyota. With a price tag of about $22,000, this Toyota hybrid has become a top seller. Toyota is not the only car maker who is selling hybrids, though; Honda made the ‘Insight’ and in fact this car was the first hybrid vehicle to be made available to to consumers. It was not welcomed in the same manner as the Prius hybrid by Toyota but it started off the consumer market for hybrids. An award-winning hybrid and priced at roughly $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. In the US, the Ford Fusion has been given the award of being the top hybrid on the market. A hybrid which is thought to have no emissions whatsoever is the i-MiEV from Mitsubishi. It was among the early electric vehicles to be produced by a Japanese car manufacturer.
There are also numerous other hybrid and eco friendly cars available to the public, and as we go on developing improved technologies, more and more efficient cars are produced and are available to buy.
