The person in this position is responsible for ensuring products and services are purchased in the most cost, and time-efficient manner possible. They will evaluate contracts, and vendors; and make final decisions regarding the awarding of contracts to suppliers. The Procurement Manager should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures including SAP, and have five to seven years of practical experience. The Procurement Manager will report the the Director of Procurement.
Responsibilities:
Manages relationships with key suppliers of the company to obtain an in-depth knowledge of their internal organization and processes
Negotiates and/or supports the management team in the negotiation of key contracts necessary to achieve the targets set by the business plan
Implements, coordinates, and supervises the application of established procurement procedures.
Create and update company supplier list
Collaborates with General Counsel to formulate standard models for contracts/purchase orders as well as any addendum to these Contracts or Purchase Orders.
Identifies the procedure to award contracts
Files records of purchases and verifies that Administration has filed records of purchase appropriately.
Aggregates, where possible, purchasing needs to achieve economies of scale/scope
Implements monthly purchasing reports for top management
Maximize efficiency of the procurement process; introducing up-to-date management tools (frame agreements/open contracts, e-catalogues, on-line tenders etc.)
Works with ICT to develop, update and improve information systems that support the purchasing process including SAP
Works with our parent company procurement department for all aspects regarding purchasing reports and to develop purchasing synergies
Requirements:
BS in Engineering (preferred), Business or related field of study
Experience in the utility, or general contracting preferred
